Date 27.01.2011
Drove up to Melbourne tonight after work to see one of my old school favourite bands growing up.
Hed PE they played at the corner hotel and were fantastic, as soon as he started singing it brought back so many memories of my teenage years and how amazing his voice is.
It was a great night for rocking out and getting my dance on, something I love to do but do not get to do often enough.
Such a good night, except for the 2 hour drive home.

Day 87 - Happy Australia Day
Date 26.01.2011
I should probably be all patriotic here and say how much I love Australia but for me on Australia Day I mainly just feel bad for Aborigines.
Honestly, I'm so happy to be living in Australia and I am so proud of this county and our people, but I still think about what they must feel on a day like today.
but enough about that haha I don't want to start ranting about what's good and what can be improved on in our country.
I went to work in the morning which for some reason was stressful, come home and listened to triple J then feel asleep, which I thought was very Australian.
I did however manage to get a photo with the Oscar's lovable inflatable kangaroo :)

Day 86 - First Blood Donation
Date 25.01.2011
Well today was the day, but I didn't know it was the day until 5.30.
I booked myself in for a blood donation appointment about a week ago, but today was such a super hectic day at work that I had forgotten all about the appointment until I was about to head home and got a reminder message from Rob.
It's probably a good thing that I had forgotten about the appointment otherwise I would of had all day to fret about it.
I get extreme anxiety when it comes to needles and often feel like I want threw up or get so nervous that I shake and stutter.
Tonight was no different.
I had also booked my mum in for an appointment, so luckily she come along with me and made me feel worse haha (I had to act tuff in front of her).
but all of sudden the needle was in my vein, the blood was dripping into a bag and I wasn't crying, I wasn't hyperventilating or even feeling like I was going to pass out.
For the whole 8 mins that they took blood I was able to sit there calm and relaxed thinking, this isn't so bad.
I think when you know that you are doing something good that will help other people in need it makes it all the better, and it was so fantastic to be sitting in waiting room for over 30 mins because they were just so packed full of volunteers.
for the whole 15 mins it took, it was a great accomplishment.

Day 85 - French Fries
Date 24.01.2011
Was a looooonnngggg Monday.
But to make it better I got to catch up with my bestie Jimmy who was down from Melbs for a few days.
It's always good catching up with people you don't see often because you have so much to talk about.
Plus we got to hang out and McDonald's and drink hot chocolates and eat french fries, 2 of my most favourite things to do.

Day 84 - Learning Chopstix
Date 23.01.2011
Today even though it was a Sunday I was back to work for a few hours of overtime, but just after lunch I was out of that place and at home catching up with my lovely sister who I haven't seen in awhile.
It's always good when I do get to see her even if only for a half and hour.
I also took it upon myself to go for an outside run, I did a few laps of the footy oval and then walked myself home, haha only a couple of weeks to go until my 4k run through Melbourne Zoo.
I must learn how to use chopsticks! only a couple of months till I'm off to Japan.
This was my first good attempt at using them and I think I did pretty well except for the small spillage down the front of my white shirt :)

Day 82 - more to do
Date 21.01.2011
Friday.. well after yet another busy week at work with all the QLD floods I worked overtime until 9pm tonight, so not to much to report on.
The day did however go super fast and I was looking forward to a lovely quiet weekend :)
I have been trying however to think up some more things I can do this year, I do have to get back into a routine now where I am doing more to make this blog more interesting, so that will all start from Feb 1st.
But until then I'll keep on top of my usual reading, listen to new music and running attempts.

Day 81 - Jaw surgery
Date 20.01.2011
Got a letter in the mail today that I missed a check up appointment at the Melbourne hospital.
Last July I had to get a sist removed from my jaw bone.
I now need to have regular 6 monthly check ups to make sure the sist isn't growing back, but I was looking forward to this appointment as it meant that I would be able to check with the dentist if I can get braces this year.
As a child I always wanted braces, but my teeth were perfect so I did not need them.
Now that I'm older I hate the thought that I have to get braces but 3 years ago my teeth started to move dramatically I blame this on heavy drug use and constant chewing.
And now I have to wait until my jaw bone has fully grown back before I can get my braces on to fix my teeth, so I have re booked my appointment for 2 weeks time I'll let you know how it goes.
The photo I have included in not from today but from a last years surgery.

Day 80 - "If it's not black buy it"
Date 19.01.2011
I've been attracted to a blue and pink Hawaiian dress the last month and everywhere I go I seem to see it but have always thought, its amazing but its blue and pink.
Today I went and tried it on and surprisingly it looked good, I thought about buying it for agers before I walked it over to the counter and finally paid for it.
I'm still not sure what has attracted me to this dress just yet as it is so bright and unlike me, even though I'm not really sure now days what is me.
up until 4 years ago it was easy all I ever wore was black, but I have seen a change in my fashion over the last few years and colour is one of them even though I'm still stuck in the routine of thinking.. "its not black"
So I think my motto for this year will be "if its not black buy it" and see how I go.

Day 79 - Hair away
Date 18.01.2011
I need to cut my hair, I have been saying this for the last 2 years but only in the last 8 months I think I have actually meant it.
So you know the saying when you have your hair short you want it long and vice versa.
now that my hair is long I'm over the boringness of it all I just want it to be short and fun (although I dread cutting it and then wishing I didn't)
But today I made the decision that I would book in to get a hair cut. I'm gonna down to my hairdresser and just say "cut it so that it suits me" and see what he comes up with and hopefully its amazing. ( and hey I've always got extensions if its to short)
So shortly there will be a whole new start to a new me and this great new year.

Day 78 - Dreadmill
Date 17.01.2011
I never usually do to much on a Monday, today was no different I woke up late, thought it was Tuesday, went to work come home read and went to the gym.
It's now been 3 days in a row that I've been to the gym and ran / jogged 5k's on the treadmill, I hope this continues as I really really want to get up to 10ks in the next couple of months.
I'm not getting any better with my time on the treadmill though which is a little disappointing, hopefully after a few weeks or so I should be able to start increasing the speed more and more and get below 40mins.
The book I'm reading at the moment is Playground by Jennifer Saginor its another book about life at the playboy mansion and is a book that is extremely hard to put down.
Me running on a treadmill, lol.

Day 77 - Drama Queen
Date 16.01.2011
"so are you a Drama Queen" .. what? " your cup it says "Drama Queen" ... my mum thinks I am.
In the picture below is a cup my mother got me.. I don't know how many years ago but awhile ago.
It made her giggle to see my face when she gave it to me.
My face said it all and although it gives off the wrong impression about me especially at work (as it might be true) it does hold the perfect about of caffeine for the day, wither that be a tea or coffee.
And today I needed alot of caffeine we are still currently helping out alot at work for the QLD floods so working 9 and half hours overtime on a Sunday meant that I didn't leave work until 9.30 at night.

Day 76 - Amber
Date 15.01.2011
Good old Saturday how I have been longing for you!
I was up nice and early ready to take my mother op shopping.
We stopped off at a shop in Morwell that I heard sells really amazing Amber pendents, Amber is good for grounding and fighting off sickness, at the moment I defiantly need assistance with grounding myself, This year is already flying by and I feel as though I'm floating around somewhere in the clouds.
Then it was off to the Doctors to get my iron tested to make sure I can donate blood next week *fingers crossed* my iron is usually a bit low which is blamed on me being a vegetarian.
and when the lady took the blood I didn't cry, or need to lay down, didn't even have an anxiety attack! My fear of needles may already be cured!
This weekends plans were to start planning our trip to Japan so we thought we would start by heading out to ZEN X (a Japanese restaurant) for tea, as always the meal was amazing and to top it off we had the tempura battered ice cream... delicious.

It was also a open mic night with some people singing in the back ground.
It was great catching up with old mates that are also extremly talented artist.
I also lost my sunglasses.

Day 74 - Nightmares
Date 13.01.2011
It's been a week now where every night I am having terrible dreams.
I've always been someone who remembers my very vivid dreams, lots of colour, emotions and detailed feelings.
It's starting to get distressing waking up every morning either frustrated, upset or pissed off.
Al though I know my body does this when it is stressed or when I do not have time to spend on myself with a meditation it is hard at the moment to wind down after being so busy at work and home.
Reminder to self do take time out this weekend.

Day 73 - Curried Sausages
Date 12.01.2011
Did massive grocery shop, got really excited by heaps of vegan food, as a child I always loved curried sausages.
now that I have found vegetarian curried sausages even more exciting, tasted the best.

Day 72 - QLD devastation
Date 11.01.2011
I'm glued to the tv, I can't help but watch the same screen shots over and over again of cars been washed down main roads, of house's full of water and people stranded on the roofs.
But the most disturbing of all would have to be the footage of the white 4wd surrounded by nothing but flood waters for miles either side of them, the car is slowly sinking more and more under with the family stranded inside, then minutes later you see them on the roof of the car staring in desperation at the helicopter above.. then to hear that when the helicopter returned to save them, they could not be found.
Everyone is thinking what can I do? How can I help?
Being so far away from it all, being able to drive down the street in your car to work, it all seems so surreal.
9 people dead and 78 people missing this is a terrible tragedy. I'm heartbroken and an emotional mess.
My heart goes out to all the poeple affected by this all and I will be making donation after donation but I know this still won't ease the pain of those who now have nothing, or noone.

Day 71 - 3rd time lucky
Date 10.01.2011
Whilst trying to open the plastic wrapper around my cereal this morning I cut my finger nail, realised that I had cut the hole to small and couldn't get the little flakes to come out and when putting the cereal back in the cupboard I realised that I had opened the packet upside down.
I could hear it raining outside but yet it felt so muggy inside, muggy weather always makes me flustered and no matter what I never feel comfortable.
Once I sat down and was finally settled at work an email was sent out to say a green commodore had left its lights on, Yep that was my car, well Rob's car that I drive ( still trying to learn manual so I can drive my black benny)
after forgetting my work tag to get back inside, I walked back to my desk and grabbed my umbrella then headed back outside were it was raining on an angle that no matter which way I held the umbrella I was doomed to get wet .
The lights are suppose to be auto so when you open the door they turn off, obviously this did not work and when I went turn the car on the battery was dead.
Luckily this seemed to be the end of my bad luck for the day, the rest of the day I was head height deep in work and didn't even notice if anything else went wrong.
I am glad however to be home now, about to jump in bed for a good reading shesh with my new book "my life story - Ben Cousins"

Day 70 - City2bay Fun Run
Date 09.01.2011
Today was the big day, another 5 k run and wither or not I could beat my last time of 41.30.
We started alot further back in this run then the last time so it took awhile before I could start running, but once I was over the start line I was off, I managed to run the whole race, except for a quick stop to get a some water.. ( it was incredibly difficult for me to run and drink.. )
I even started to pick my pace up alot in the fifth k and was excited to get to the end of the race to see my new time.
It was 41.30 I couldn't believe I had done the same time.. exactly.
Until now, mum just rang me to say the times are already up on the website and I actually clocked in at 40.13!
Even though it's only 1 min difference to the last one, this is going to make me work so much harder to get it down for the next race which is only 4k but I'm gonna work my arse off to get it well under.
My next run is on feb 2nd.
My mother, sister and family best friend competed in the race today and all did very well! my mum come in 2 mins under her last race!
another great day to add to this fantastic year!

Day 69 - Family affairs
Date 08.01.2011
Got to go op shopping this morning, which you all know that I loooooove, got a beautiful coloardo brief case bag and a nice top.
Also brought some new gym clothes and a new daily organiser, not from the op shop but from the store haha
Had a lovely night, headed out to the country for a engagement party, although I had incredibly bad hayfever and some stomach pains the party was gorges and the speeches made were adorable and you can really tell these two familys are going to have a great life together.
I did get a little upset about who would do the speeches and my engagement party, or my wedding for that matter, but then I remembered I'm not engaged and to worry about that when the time comes along.

Day 68 - Black books
Date 07.01.2011
Friday was another great day we left the hotel and headed to our favourite suburb, Hawthorn.
We had been wanting to try the potato shack for a week so we thought we would stop there for lunch before heading home.
It was well worth the one week wait, I got a lentil rama it was amazing.
We also stopped past a book store that reminded Rob of black books (tv show staring our favourite comedian Dylan Moran) before heading of to cold rock ice creamery, second time in a week :)
We picked up some Ben and Jerry's ice cream from a gorges little deli on Glennferrie road before starting our trek back home.

Day 67 - Afraid of Heights
Date 06.01.2011
Back to the lovely Melbourne today for Rob's uncles 50th Birthday which was held at the iconic Young and Jackson's located directly across from Flinder's Street train station.
Whilst in Melbourne we were staying a beautiful hotel the Hilton South Wharf, it had amazing views and when we booked in for tea the lady offered us a free 45 min salsa lesson, as I had been drinking free champagne most of the day this seemed like a great idea, but after 15 mins we were out of there!
But it something that I have wanted to try for a long time, so Rob promised we will do some classes sometime in the future.
We had a beautiful meal at the hotel then headed back into the city to check out the view from the Eureka Sky Deck ( I still can't believe I lived in Melbourne for so long but still have not been to all the tourist attractions)
So up we went to the 88th floor, now remember how I'm afraid of heights, well I thought I may be able to cure it before we do our sky jump in may.
So I decided we should go out on the edge. (the edge is a box that comes out side of the building from the 88th floor that is made out of glass so when you look down you see all the streets far far below you)
This was a bad idea. As soon as I walked out I could not let go of the rail and I started swearing and yelling at anyone that said anything to me, I was petrified the glass was going to break, not to mention the sound of the box sliding out the side of a building did not sound very secure at all.
After staring out the side of the window and refusing to look down I ran back into the building shaking.
But was able to bring myself back out into the box to get a quick photo before running back inside to hide.
This is not good. I can't believe I was so hysterical, How am I going to jump out of an aeroplane at 12000 ft ?
Here's a pic of me out the front of Flinder's st station, (again something I never thought to do when I lived in the city.. the things we take for granted aye)
The photo I managed to get in the Eureka Edge box... Rob and I .

Day 66 - Sliding into home
Date 05.01.2011
Wednesday was a fairly quite day, it was my second day back at work and I all I could think about was heading back to Melbourne tomorrow and Friday.
I got home and packed my bags and was already to head off.
I also started the autobiography by Kendra Wilkinson - sliding into home. which I completed in 2 days, it was a great read as I'm such a fan of " Girls next door" the tv show about the playboy mansion, and I loved how open she was about her experience there and her drug abuse as a young child.

Day 65 - Tuesday
Date 04.01.2011
Caught up with a friend after work to help try to find me a dress to wear for the 50th Birthday party I have coming up on Thursday this week, Didn't find anything, so we enjoyed an ice coffee and some gossip in the lovely sun
Then I had y Gym assessment and let the trainer know I wanted to be able to run 10ks within the next few months, so he started me on a more intense treadmill and weight rotation.
Which is good it's helping me to bring down my current time for the 5 k runs.
I also weighed myself and found out I have put 2 kilos on over the Christmas break, shesh bad news but it really is expected when I have been eating a box of chocolates every 2 days!

Day 64 - Zoo run, anyone?
Date 03.01.2011
Got a chance to get back into the gym today and managed to get 5ks walking done in 47 mins, so hopefully that means this Sunday when I do the city2bay fun run I will do it under 40 mins, to beat my last record.
Had a look online and there is some amazing runs coming up in the city one is through the Melbourne Zoo which I want to do, if anyone would like to do this run with me please let me know, It's Wed 2nd of Feb.
I will also be donating blood at the end of this month!! Big news, as this is one of my phobias and will be the first one I get to tick off my list can't wait. (although I'm nervous as hell)
This photo is a little creepy, sorry about that.

Day 63 - 11:11
Date 02.01.2011
I realised today that yesterday was the 1.1.11.
the 01.01.2011.
11:11
I'm someone who can't go a day with out seeing 11:11 on the clock. but yet I went the whole day without seeing it once. I really need to find the universe sign meaning of the number 11:11.
Other then that It was a beautiful day for laying out on the grass, enjoying some cocktails and catching up with old mates, Thank you beautiful world.

Day 62 - Happy New Year
Date 01.01.2011
Those of you that follow my blog would know that the month of January, I am suppose to be going Vegan, but only in the means of food, so not eating meat or dairy.
Whilst driving home from Melbourne Rob and I stopped off at Fountain Gate shopping centre to get something to eat we both got a vegetable potato cake from the food court, then on the way out we got a box of Krispy Kremes which I enjoyed on the drive home from the city.
Once home I continued to eat many things like chocolate, the thought of me suppose to be being vegan for the month had completely slipped my mind until now, I really need to write a list somewhere of everything I'm suppose to be doing, or set alarms in my phone I'm hopeless!
So Vegan Holi will start for the month of February, But I will defiantly start eating more reasonably this month because pigging out over the holiday break is starting to hurt my belly.

Day 61 - Fireworks & Candy Ice Cream
Date 31.12.2010
New years eve, how exciting. I can not wait for 2011.
It was extremely hot in the city reaching 40 degrees we did not do to much through out the day, ventured out a few times to grab some cold rock ice cream and eat lunch.
We headed into the city that night to go out to tea and Hotel Windsor, watched the midnight fire works on the yarra, then headed out to Hawthorn to catch up with an old mate.
I'm still smiling at the fact that its 2011, this year I know is going to be an amazing year, got so much planned first trip overseas, turning 25, sky diving, moving back to the city... loads of things and I can't wait for them all to start.

Day 60 - Soul Mama
Date 30.12.2010
A beautiful day, headed off to Melbourne late afternoon to celebrate a mates 25th birthday.
We stayed in Hawthorn at Gleneferrie hotel, which was a beautiful little hotel and the weather was warm enough for us to head down to the lovely beer garden downstairs to enjoy some moscato's before catching the tram off to St Kilda to eat a gorgeous meal on the beach watching the sunset go down over the ocean.
Soul Mama is the most amazing restaurant located on St Kilda beach, it only serves the most amazing vegetarian food.
Great night.
