Well today was the day, but I didn't know it was the day until 5.30.
I booked myself in for a blood donation appointment about a week ago, but today was such a super hectic day at work that I had forgotten all about the appointment until I was about to head home and got a reminder message from Rob.
It's probably a good thing that I had forgotten about the appointment otherwise I would of had all day to fret about it.
I get extreme anxiety when it comes to needles and often feel like I want threw up or get so nervous that I shake and stutter.
Tonight was no different.
I had also booked my mum in for an appointment, so luckily she come along with me and made me feel worse haha (I had to act tuff in front of her).
but all of sudden the needle was in my vein, the blood was dripping into a bag and I wasn't crying, I wasn't hyperventilating or even feeling like I was going to pass out.
For the whole 8 mins that they took blood I was able to sit there calm and relaxed thinking, this isn't so bad.
I think when you know that you are doing something good that will help other people in need it makes it all the better, and it was so fantastic to be sitting in waiting room for over 30 mins because they were just so packed full of volunteers.
for the whole 15 mins it took, it was a great accomplishment.
